One Day in Jasper: Hanging with Hannah

Hannah Dillon is one of those people who can transform from skater-girl to runway ready on a moment’s notice. She arrived on the day with one of those bottomless suitcases – the kind that seems to hold enough clothing for an old school trip to the continent, yet fits in the space beneath an airline seat.

I always appreciate models who bring their own vision to a shoot; Hannah had ideas of her own and she pursued them with laser focus. At the bottom of Maligne Canyon she found a big rock in the middle of the river. The water was running pretty high that day (as it tends to do during a heatwave), but she bounced her way across the rocks until she reached her spot.

Hannah somehow makes it look much cooler than it actually was (34 degrees celsius).

A small audience gathered on the walkway above. They were clearly foreign tourists, and I had enough gear laying around to suggest that maybe Hannah was actually a famous supermodel. They absolutely beamed when we waved back at them.

In keeping with the theme of the day, everything eventually ends up in the water.
